Who We Are

Raven House Trust is a nonprofit charity, registered with both Companies House & The Charity Commission.

There are three main functions to RHT, our charity shop, furniture bank and food bank. Our food bank and furniture operate from the donations received and we also sell donated furniture.

RHT is passionate about helping those in the Gwent and surrounding areas with the provision of food and furniture in times of need.

How it all Started...

Raven House Trust is one of the longest serving food banks in Wales, it was started in 1992.

A lady at Duckpool Road Baptist Church felt the the church needed to support the homeless during the winter months. She spoke to her minister and he got the church leaders together to look at what this should look like.

Newport council loaned the trust over the winter months to allow homeless to stay over night, have a hot meal and then cooked breakfast before leaving.

This all evolved into a food bank in 1998.
